kayaks and the blues

I have travelled around the world this summer. I have kayaked our local waters, I come home to find The Blues. Last night we went down to the Blue Heron lake/bar/restaurant and paid 7 dollars for a tri tip dinner and live music "on the green". Brad Wilson played, they do blues tunes. They were set up next to the lake in the Gazebo. You know the band has to be good when they do excellent renditions of Stevie Ray V's tunes. It is a bring your own chair and blanket event... bring the heathens also, as kid meals are only 2 bucks (hot dog and chips). The music was great from our seats yet there was one person with the best seats on the water....kayaking around Blue Heron Lake in their kayak to the pulsing sounds of The Blues. This picture of me is not me paddling to the beat of Brad Wilson.... but made me think that "Hey, there is way enough water here still to paddle... so the old kayak is gonna get dusted off next week and get a dipping in the lake. All in all, on the water or on the lawn.... Twas a great Friday night at YLP.

15 july... from Heathrow to Coarsegold

Long trip. Long plane ride. I took a big breath when I reached Heathrow in time for my fligbt to LAX. I have loved my safari.. loved the people, loved visiting with mum, loved charles and safir, loved the kids asking for pens and "pe pe" (candy) But I am glad to be home with my dogs and my housemate. and yes.. glad to be back at work. Missed my friends.

Stay tuned for my adventures in Bass lake on the bike with Lilly on October (we are doing Loop the lake x2 for the grizzly ride) and then I will be in Hawai'i for my 46th bday.
