A LONG drive from Selous to Ruaha. We actually had to drive through Mikumi, our third park to get to Ruaha. 10 bloody hour drive!! I took lots of pics from the LandBruiser... got some good shots!!
we were soooo glad to get to the Ruaha Game Reserve.... cos it was only a short drive further to the Ruaha River Lodge. A good lodge, except that it was a chain owned by Foxes lodges. The food was good.... but I could imagine the menus being engineered by a corporate person in Dar es Saalam for all the lodges. We always had soup for starters.. at Sable Mtn and Saadani.. we had a variety of starters.
But at Ruaha.. we did get the the evening Elephant in camp and the usual lion prints. That was cool, but the river was way too low for Hippos, and we were camped RIGHT on the river!
