OK. Mum arrives by bush plane today. I got up, ate breaky and jumped into the landcruiser.... thankfully leaving the luggage in the Banda. Charles got us to the airstrip which is at the border of the Game Reserve (Selous) at 0915 sharp.. but the plane... LATE! We waited til 0930 then drove a few kilometer to the ranger station and found out via radio tranmission that the plane would be in at 1000 hours. Gee.. when in Africa.. should of known, being the Train to Selous was 12 hours late!!
We drove back to the airstrip with an extra passanger who needed to fly out. Sapphire (Safir) gave her hell about how the park fees increased in just a few weeks... was funny listening to the argument in Swahili... a language which I can ask for beer, wine, loo, water and how are you!
Mum arrived at quarter after ten... we went back, fed Mum and jumped back in to the jeep for a game drive.. where we got to see the LION!!
Dinner that night was another afresco affair.. drinks in the open air bar.... and dinner in the open air dining room..... We even after dinner entertainment by the local Civit who would cruise in nightly for the grub tossed out by our server Moody (short for Mohammad)
