27 June 2008. I fly from Fresno to LAX, where I meet up with Mum to travel to London on American Airlines, and then on to Nairobi, Kenya on KenyaAir. After that flight, we catch a puddle jumper to Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania. From there, we will be picked up by or favourite safari guide, Charles. He will guide us around Southern Tanzania. We will start out in the southern Selous and staying at Sable Mountain Lodge for two nights. we then go to Ruaha and stay at River Lodge for another two nights. after Ruaha, we travel on with Charles to Mikumi National Park and and stay at Vuma Hills for two nights. From there we go to Saadani Safari lodge for 3 and I think now 4 nights. This lodge is gonna be my favourite, as it is on the Indian Ocean... and we will get to see our favourite body of water. Woo hoo.
As we will be able to stay on the Coast of Tanzania and get out dose of the Indian Ocean, we will not be travelling again to Zanzibar. We have done that before, and even though I might travel again there... I would rather not stay there again, as our tour guide wanted to plant us at Breezes Resort, and as they say in the movies..... "been there, done that and threw away the teeshirt."
Our return trip is going to be hell..... we fly from Dar to Nairobi (Kenya Air) then on to Mombai aka Bombay, India via Air India.... from the to London... and from London to LA on American Airlines. Oh mah gosh... India?? I would complain, but I can now say that I have been to India.... I don't have that port of call on my list of places to travel for years yet.
Ill keep you posted on my travels, in the mean time I will be cycling my bum off in preparation for the May 10th Century ride around Madera County. I need to get my syntroid refilled this week.... so that I can start feeling the energy again. I am soooooo dragging these last few days cos I ran out of my meds. Gotta go get the meds tomorrow!!!!
